What would Pierre Trudeau do if he was in Stephane Dion's shoes?
We have the answer for that. PET was in that position, when another over confident Tory prime minister confused a minority government with a majority one, and thought the Liberals would be too chicken to take him on.
Trust your instincts, Mr. Dion.
You have the reputation of being a fighter. And of being under estimated by your foes.
Take on this bully, and then let us settle down as the new government, to governing the country properly. The fate of the earth calls for decisive action. Harper will not provide it. You can.
Strike a blow for a greater Canada.
Vote No tomorrow.

well said....couldnt of said it better myself..lets hope ur right about dion, we will know tomorow if hes a wimp....if he does not take on this ass, then its over, hes a weakling....and if half the liberal members dont show up, I say he resigns and now...
Oh yes please Mr Dion, vote no.
Signed,
A Conservative.
That would be very gallant, but utterly foolish. Perhaps even suicidal.
Cat,
Trudeau had announced plans to resign when Broadbent decided to vote against the Clark budget. The Socreds who provided the balance of power for the Cons abstained and laughed at Joe Clark.
Nope, PET did not bring down Joe Clark. It was John Crosbie's "short term pain for long term gain" budget that led to Clark's defeat in 1979.
We aren't ready. Dion can be as dynamique as you like, but that won't change that the Conservatives have a good chance of increasing their majority. And who then will be responsible for the policies of a new more powerful Harper government, not Mr. Leyton anymore.
There is a time for courage on the part of leaders, and in my view this is the time of testing for Stephane Dion.
Harper has set a trap for Dion. He has called him out. He has made a condition of support of the Throne Speech, that Dion walk away from the Kyoto Accord and the fight to save the earth, and cowtow to the fraudulent Tory policy.
How can Dion do this and still wish to maintain the respect of the voters?
One thing voters want in a leader of a country is courage. Pierre Trudeau showed it when he faced down the crowd in Quebec. Stephane Dion showed it when he fought to preserve Canada.
Now it is time for Dion to show the same courage, and to gain power.
I'm with you cat, time to stand up and fight. Canadians want Dion to show some leadership, call this bluff and fight for Canada! When everyone expects the bully jock to give the skinny kid a wedgie and instead the kid slugs the bully people cheer. polls can change in an instant.Walk proudly into the house united, vote against this speech and then break into ridiculas sustained applause.Pat your smiling leader on the back and applaud some more. How would that look on the news? then fight this election on afghanistan and the enviroment. Canadians will followm just give us a reason.
