EKOS – Good reasons for Liberals to vote NDP & vice versa in Ontario!!!

You think Harper is going to lose seats in Ontario because the NDP is surging, and the gap between the Tories and Dippers is closing?

Think again!

The chances are high that Harper will be returned to government  with a strong minority because the Liberal and NDP supporters are cutting each others' throats in many seats in Ontario.

UNLESS LIBERAL SUPPORTERS AND NDP SUPPORTERS VOTE SMART ON MAY 2 (BY SUPPORTING THE CANDIDATE FROM EITHER PARTY THAT HAS THE BEST CHANCE TO BEAT THE TORY CANDIDATE) HARPER WILL BE BACK IN POWER.

THE LESSON? VOTE SMART AND KICK OUT HARPER; VOTE DUMB AND GIVE HARPER ANOTHER CHANCE.

This is confirmed by today's EKOS poll and comments:

In an interesting development, as the Conservative Party’s overall margin over the NDP has shrunk to a mere five points, the newfound parity of the NDP and Liberal Party in Ontario appears to have produced significant benefits in terms of seat returns.

So while the Conservatives have lost ground to the NDP and have remained flat in Ontario, the new tie between Liberals and NDP in Ontario is causing vote splitting that has elevated the Conservative Party’s prospects.

While they have remained under 40 points in Ontario, they would now be ticketed to receive the lion’s share of Ontario seats with less than two-fifths of its votes.

Vote Smart: Choose the door that Turfs out a Tory
With 61 of Ontario’s 106 seats, the Conservatives are now projected to win 146 seats. This means that they would basically reproduce their current number of MPs although their caucus would be a dramatically different Ontario-based government.

The vote splitting also would reduce the joint total of NDP and Liberal seats (109 and 42, respectively) to 151, which is shy of the 155 needed to have a majority.

The solution is glaringly obvious:

PUT YOUR COUNTRY BEFORE YOUR PARTY ON MAY 2 – and vote for the candidate from either the Liberal or NDP parties who has the best chance to Turf-out-a-Tory.

Let's finish the job and banish the Tories from  government.

Let the centre-left have a chance to give Canada decent government for a change.

VOTE SMART, NOT DUMB.

O, Canada, we stand on guard for thee!

The Real Ballot Question on May 2

  1. The big problem is it is virtually impossible to know which ridings are involved and which party needs to be supported. It could well be that the strategy backfires.Besides, 100,000 times the number of people would have to participate than are reading this blog.

Chretien won majorities by splitting the vote in Ontario and he did it with less support than Harper has now.

What is clear is that people are voting to send Iggy back to Harvard.

  2. Truthfully, I'd like to see the NDP get a crack as the official opposition. I'm curious to see how and where they would make concessions on their ideologies, as is necessary when applying ideals to practical situations. I'm not especially hopeful, but I am curious.
