Desperate Harper calls in the Wizard of Oz to save his failing campaign

The Wizard of Oz - Harper's last hope?
Having sent his top campaign advisor back to Ottawa, to join his chief of staff, Novak (the one who doesn’t read all his emails), Harper is flailing around, trying to find the magic bullet to rescue his campaign.

With the latest Nanos poll showing that now a whopping 7 in 10 Canadians think it is time for a change in this election, and with his minister in charge of foreign affairs screwing things up with the oh so typical Harper ‘new’ Tory tone-deafness, things are bad, bad, bad for the prime minister.

His concern is visible in his eyes and the slant of his mouth every time he reluctantly appears on TV to answer questions by journalists.

So, with so many of his top Ministers not running this time, with his PMO reduced to a skeleton staff now that he ‘fired’ Wright, and with his campaign leader being sniped at by anonymous Tory leakers, Harper has reached out to Australia for the Wizard of Oz to save him, a post in Huffington Post says:

Stephen Harper’s Conservatives are reaching overseas for expert election help in a bid to regain their footing and halt a slide in the polls, bringing in globetrotting Australian campaign doctor Lynton Crosby.

Crosby is known as the Wizard from Oz, and is considered one of the world’s top political strategists.

He helped David Cameron retain the prime minister’s office in Britain, and just last month engineered victory in Sri Lanka’s election.

Crosby also helped Boris Johnson get elected mayor of London.

Will The Aussie Fixer save the day for the sinking Harper?

I wonder how many journalists are trying to follow The Wizard as he works his miracles yet again.

Methinks the die is cast, the Rubicon has been crossed, the parrot is dead dead dead ….

And no pining in the fiords of Norway will save the day.
